Elspeth Hunter and Wednesday Batchelor, sharing the Project Support Officer post, will be staying with "More Than Oliver Twist" for a further three months! We are very grateful to Arts Council England for approving a reprofiling of the ‘More Than Oliver Twist’ project budget... ...Meaning that the Project Support Officer shared post has been extended until early September, when originally it was due to come to an end in June. This means that we will be able to continue to support the project and exhibition following the changes made in April. This much needed, continued support will see the project through its final stages, which includes the writing of the Workhouse Network’s forward plan, and the development and launch of the ‘More Than Oliver Twist’ digital exhibition.
Elspeth: “It’s been such a great experience working on the More Than Oliver Twist project, and I am delighted that I can stay for a little longer and see this through to the end! I also love my Friday morning catch-ups with Megan and Wednesday so am relieved that these can continue for an extra three months - it’s wonderful to feel like part of a team and stay connected with these two fabulous ladies! Despite being in lockdown, things seem to be moving pretty fast – I don’t want to give anything away, but Mel and Morgan are having some super interesting conversations and I cannot wait to see how this progresses. Watch this space! From now onwards, I will mainly be focussing on the five-year forward plan for the Workhouse Network, alongside developing materials to help partners manage digital volunteers remotely.” Wednesday: “Working on this project and with the Workhouse Network has been a really fantastic opportunity; it is amazing to get to know the sites better and work with artists to make an exhibition come together. Having to deal with the changes and barriers that have cropped up this year have at least meant we are working as a cohesive team and still working to create something wonderful. Megan and Elspeth are fantastic to work with, I’ve loved (virtually) meeting the other steering groups members and site contacts and am really glad to be seeing the project through with this extension! I will be focusing on the exhibition and contributing to the forward plan for the network, alongside anything else that comes my way!”
